The wreck happened just after 10:20 p.m. May 26 on Bibb County 1, about 3 miles north of Brent.

George T. Middlebrooks, 64, was critically injured when the sedan he was driving ran off the road and into a ditch before overturning. Middlebrooks, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was transported to Bibb Medical Center in Centreville and later died.
