Meet Tyler Kendrick (JD 25)

I am Tyler Kendrick, a Double Gator in my final year at UF Law. I was raised in Lakeland, Florida and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UF in 2022. During undergrad, I served as an Agency Head and Senator in Student Government and was named Homecoming King. At UF Law, I’ve interned with Greenberg Traurig and clerked for a federal magistrate judge. Currently, I am Vice President of Administration for the Florida Trial Team and an Associate Justice on the UF Supreme Court. Most recently, I concluded my term as the Fall 2024 President of Florida Blue Key. I also was named to the UF Hall of Fame. Upon graduation, I will work in real estate law at Greenberg Traurig in Orlando.

Since I could remember, I’ve always envisioned myself as an attorney. Throughout my childhood, I would experience a wave of excitement as I communicated with people whether it was through my participation in mock trial camps or speaking to the underserved on mission trips. It wasn’t until high school and my time at UF that I realized my passion wasn’t just about enjoying communication—it was about the desire to advocate for others. I wanted to provide zealous representation to those in need of legal aid. I pursued leadership roles in both student government and community service programs. As a result, I not only grew personally but also deepened my commitment to making a meaningful impact in the legal field. In all, UF is where God revealed my purpose, where I found a supportive community, and where I’ve made lifelong friends. Given all that UF has meant to me, it felt only right to continue my law school journey at a place that has been my home for the past four years.

If you’re considering law school, make sure you know your “why.” If you stay connected to your “why,” give it your best effort, and build a strong support system with your classmates, law school will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. You’ll not only learn to think more logically, but you’ll also discover a much greater capacity to learn and perform than you ever imagined.
