In 2025 we are not spoiling our dream trip by falling out with our travel partner 👏🏼👏🏼 We’re going to avoid some awkward conversations and petty squabbles with some key questions before we go! 

Save this and ask your travel buddy / other half before you set out on your trip! 

BUDGET 
• What’s your overall budget for the trip?
• If one of our budgets are higher, how will we manage this?
• How do you feel about splitting costs—50/50, taking turns, or tracking every expense?
• Are you more into saving money or splurging on experiences?
• How do you feel about sharing accommodations (e.g., hostels vs. hotels vs. Airbnbs)?
• Will we be paying separately or using a shared budget for things like food and transport?

EXPECTATIONS & PRIORITIES
• What’s your main goal for this trip—relaxation, adventure, partying, sightseeing, or something else?
• How much time do you want to spend together vs. doing your own thing?
• What are your must-do activities, and what are you happy to skip?
• How structured do you like your days—fully planned or go with the flow?
• Are you okay with early mornings, or do you prefer to sleep in?
• What are your deal-breakers when it comes to accommodations (e.g., shared bathrooms, no air-con, basic hotels)?

CONFLICT & PROBLEM SOLVING
• How do you handle stress or unexpected travel hiccups?
• What’s the best way for me to communicate with you if we disagree?
• What do you need to feel comfortable and enjoy the trip?

And the most important of all: 
*Do you get hangry?* (honestly so many travel arguments are caused by this alone!)

I also if you get periods I highly recommend downloading the app ‘MOODY’ - it’s so so great for managing your moods throughout the month. Tim has my account on his phone 😂 and it’s saved many a travel day!
