Vietnam is more than just Hanoi and Halong Bay so here are some places to add to your itinerary! We’ve been many times, and so I’ve made my Vietnam wish list for you🇻🇳

There are so many hidden gems and jaw-dropping landscapes that feel straight out of a dream! Pretty misty mountain villages, caves so big you can camp inside them, and gorgeous little islands that aren’t too busy. Plus there’s spots to go in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh that you’ll love!

I put together a list of must-see places for your itinerary. Comment VIETNAM and I’ll DM a link to the Google Maps list with all of these spots pinned. There are some hidden bars in Hanoi there too 👀

Here’s some of my faves: 
 
- Take the night train to Sapa, it has fancier cabins and a restaurant carriage
- Self drive of the Hai Van pass if the Ha Giang is too far or the season is wrong, it can be done in half a day and is dry when the ha giang is rainy
- Go to Tu Long Bay instead of Halong for smaller crowds
- Add 2 nights in Dalat from Ho Chi Minh, my recs are on the Google maps
- If you’re getting the train from Hanoi to Hoi An, stop at Phong Nha to see insanely epic caves
- Spend a day Hue for a day before going to Hoi An
- If you’re on Cat Ba island, climb Ngu Lam Peak
- Check out the Cham islands and Con Dao islands
- Learn about Vietnamese history at the Vinh Moc Tunnels
- See the rice terraces at Mai Chau 
- Go to Ban Gioc Waterfalls, one of the largest falls in Asia
- Head to the Bac Son Valley for a real cultural experience
