In a new initiative to tempt travellers to explore more of the country, Japan Airlines (JAL) announced they will be offering free domestic flights to international customers 🇯🇵

So how does it work? And is it too good to be true? Let’s discus!

Here’s the deal, JAL is offering travellers from 14 countries (and counting) free domestic flights when they book their international flight with the airline. The 14 countries are listed in the video, with more being added at the end of the month. So do stay tuned if your country isn’t there!

When you book your flights to Japan with JAL, you can add free domestic flights to your journey free of charge. The press release specifically says flights, so you can add multiple 🫶🏻

To ensure eligibility, customers must book a JAL international flight and a corresponding domestic flight together at the same time. Separate bookings for domestic flights are not eligible.

A ‘stopover’ charge applies to travellers from U.S., Canada, Mexico, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, and Tianjin if their stay in their first destination Japan exceeds 24 hours. No additional charges apply for travellers from other countries. I don’t really understand the purpose behind this, but if you’re from those countries, book your first domestic flight within 24 hours of landing and you’ll save $100. You can always come back and explore it later! 

JAL flies to 64 domestic airports, so you have quite a range of places to choose from - including Okinawa for beaches and Hokkaido for skiing 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
