Two week, four countries, 21 incredible travellers, many 5am alarms and too many memories to count 🫶🏻

I said it already on my stories, but if you’ve been thinking about doing a safari trip then PLEASE do it!! This was my first time on safari, first time on the continent, so many firsts on this trip - it just blew me away.

Here’s a few things that surprised me about Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana:

The flight: A long haul flight with no time difference is *wonderful*. no jet lag 👌🏼which means you can land and explore right away.

The food: We ate local and international food. Vegetarian food was easy to come by, and the quality of the ingredients was high.

The prices: In countries we were in, the prices could make your eyes water at times. It’s worth looking about for deals and eating local food to save money, and being super sure about what you want to do as experiences can cost a lot.

Safaris: I love them - can’t get enough! 😂 every free moment I wanted to be in that jeep, driving around to see if we could spot animals. Even if we didn’t get lucky and see any, I loved every minute it. I can’t wait for Namibia already to do it again. The thrill is incredible!

The weather: we were bundled up in about 17 layers in the morning safaris ✅ in denim shorts and vest at lunch ✅ back in jumpers & jeans by sundown ✅ pack for alll the weather (I’ll be doing a video on my packing but I’ve lost my voice so I can’t record it yet 😭)

The animals: We saw so many more than I thought we would - 4 of the big 5 (we didn’t see Rhinos, but they’ll be in Namibia). I was hopeful to see *some* elephants, giraffes and zebras but we saw countless of each. The guides are so knowledgable, they talked to us about each animal as it crossed the path in front of us or stood nearby.

Sunrise and sunset: I thought they were pretty on Thai islands, but watching the sunrise each morning in the safari jeep was pinch-me beautiful

Did you see my stories of the week! How did it compare to your expectations?
