Are you a digital nomad or long term traveller who wants to spend more time in Thailand, but are limited by visas? Well here’s the details on the new DTV ‘Destination Thailand Visa’ 🇹🇭

The DTV is a five-year multiple entry visa that the Thai government have announced will launch in 2024. This Visa allows you to stay up 180 days in the country with each visit, with the option to extend the visa once for a further 180 days. 

There are certain criteria that need to be met to apply:

•You must be at least 20 years old.
• You must have enough money to pay for the visa fee. 
• You must prove that you possess at least 500,000 THB in your bank account to support your stay in the country.
• You must provide proof of employment with a registered company (foreign) 

The visa cost will be 10,000thb (€250 / USD$270 / £215), and you must pay 10,0000thb if you want to extend it. This makes it one of the cheapest long term visas in SEA 👌🏼👌🏼

It’s really important to note that you cannot work for a Thai company on this Visa! You can work for yourself with your own limited company outside of the country, or for any company based outside of Thailand. There are also no tax restrictions for the Visa, so you don’t pay tax on the income you do earn. And you can bring your family into the country too, which is great for families who want to travel!
