A little Koh Lanta Guide, for everyone who I have convinced to come to this beautiful Thai island 🌴

Why do I love it so much? There’s a ton of things to do, great places to eat, & the prettiest sunsets I’ve ever seen! It can be easy to get a bit bored on an island, so if you want somewhere you can chill but not get bored then this is the island for you.

Lanta is fairly big, compared with the nearby islands. And there are three main areas people stay:

• the north area is called Saladan, and it’s where most holiday makers / families / package type holiday makers go. We don’t really spend much time here, but if you’re with kids and like convenience then check it out. It has the prettiest beach, but the downside is that it’s so packed with people.
• the middle of the island attracts more backpackers and low key travellers. Reggae bars, sundowners, great places to eat and quieter beaches. We stay here, on a beach called Khong Kong. It’s vibey, budget friendly, and close enough to Saladan that if we need to buy something or have a nice meal we can drive up.
• South of that you have Khlong Nin, which is surrounded by quiet beaches and close to the cave / national park etc. Having stayed here, it’s super convenient for getting on a bike and taking off on an adventure and the sunset / happy hours are decent. I tend to prefer Khlong Kong for evening vibes, but Khlong Nin is great for exploring. It’s more family oriented than Khlong Kong, but there aren’t kids everywhere like Saladan.

There are some *stunning* small islands you can see around an hour away (listed in the post). Do them in a day as a 4-island boat trip, or go stay overnight. You can camp on the beach on one of them!!

Food recs: The Angels, Sunset Cliff, BBs, peak cafe, 3 sisters, food by DOX, pad Thai rock n roll, Rasta baby, bows pizza, pinto

How to get there: boats to Kabra leave from Phuket or Krabi so fly into either of these airports! Book your boat when you arrive for the cheapest price, book on 12go_com if you just want peace of mind that it’s booked & you don’t mind paying a lil more!

AH I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!!!! #thailand #kohlanta #thailandguide #thailandtravel
