"Rushing from vegas airport to Death Valley on an afternoon in January, I set out to shoot the dying light in the dunes. With enough time to spare, I found a spot to park on the side of the roads outside mesquite, grabbed my gear, and waded into the sand. I saw this dead tree clinging to the side of the dune and framed it center to the landscape." - Patrick
