Demonstrations escalated on Sunday in a third day of unrest over Trump’s decision to deploy the national guard - sent in to protect federal buildings, including the downtown detention center where protesters convened. ⁣

It’s the first time in decades that a state’s national guard was activated without a request from its governor.⁣

Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass blamed the increasingly inflamed protests on Trump's decision to deploy the Guard.⁣
