As #Trump clashes with #GavinNewsom over deploying the National Guard to Los Angeles, a 2020 ABC News clip has resurfaced showing #Trump taking the opposite stance. 

In the interview, he told #GeorgeStephanopoulos, “We can’t call in the National Guard unless we’re requested by a governor,” referring to protests in Portland following the murder of George Floyd. “We have to go by the laws,” he said at the time — a stark contrast to his current decision to send military forces to California without the governor’s approval.
