What @Tower 28 Beauty has done with their new sunscreen by making marketing claims like this is not only misleading, it’s super harmful as it negates trust. Right now, with where formulation science is at, it is simply not possible to create a mineral sunscreen that truly leaves zero white cast across all skin tones. Even with pigments it’s extremely hard depending on the formula base.That’s just the reality. And as someone who works in the industry, I am pushing for a more inclusive future everyday. Brands need to do better and consult chemists, product developers or their internal experts to ensure marketing claims are accurate. Brands need to stop chasing buzzwords at the expense of truth! While this launch definitely missed the mark, I’ve always been a fan of Tower 28 and I’m also a believer in giving brands space to grow, listen, and do better.
