This unique POP 1 offering has outdistanced the other 21 signed examples on the illustrious PSA “Pop” Chart, with its closest competitors being a PSA 2.5 and 4(MK) specimens. Although the incomparable Willie Mays played in only 34 games in 1952 on account of his military service, Topps still decided to issue a 1953 Mays subject, with its #244 checklist number placing it as the set’s most desirable “short print.”
