Although this seems like a flashy football skill that invites a Brexit tackle, it’s actually quite effective when mastered for 2 big reasons:

1) The second half of the skill is effectively a step over, but a bigger advantage being you’re not lunging to the weak side, you’re jumping. This means as you off-balance the opponent with the step over, your body weight is already leaning towards the strong side / exit side as you land

2) Because the move looks unconventional straight away, some defenders will freeze in a moment where they’re not sure what’s happening. 

As long as you have good timing, spacing, and really sell the skill then accelerate, this move works quite well especially to create a quick shot. I learned this only two years ago from watching seanfreestyle futsal skills and in fight ball - he has a great in depth tutorial on his youtube channel as well🔥
