Point of clarity: this post is NOT a dig at Phaedra.  MANY people (and celebrities) do this SAME thing and make this same mistake. This is an opportunity for ALL of us — to learn, and to course correct. 

Unfortunately, we’re out here bragging about the wrong stuff.

Recently I could not get upgraded on a busy holiday weekend, so I flew coach just last week with my family… To our beach condo in the Caribbean.  My wife and I gladly flew back first class because we were - upgraded.  And if our nephew was with us, and we were paying, he would have been traveling coach both ways. 
You see the point? 

A $3,000 plane ticket for a child with no job and no financial literacy? That’s not love — that’s sabotage.

It kills ambition. It breeds entitlement.

We are teaching luxury before they understand labor.

Real wealth doesn’t scream. It’s built in silence, strategy, and structure.

That private jet? If it ain’t a corporate write-off, it’s probably a financial write-down. We should stop trying to prove you’re rich by buying what the rich write off.

More than 70% of luxury goods are bought by people who aren’t actually wealthy — but are understandably aspirational and just trying to look like it.  Btw - this use to be me too when I was coming up. 
That’s not success. That’s a setup.

Let’s stop flexing for followers and start building for our future.
Make smart sexy again. This is plain and simple a financial literacy moment. An opportunity to re-adjust the lens in our lives. ALL of us do this, or have. Including me.  I’m now passing on the lessons I LEARNED. 

P.S. And yes, before my companies or those who sponsor my tickets on business could afford it, I also traveled to Japan, Africa and elsewhere - coach. For 2 decades.
