REVIEW: When Spiritbox played their first-ever UK show at Download back in 2022, you could tell that Courtney LaPlante was humbled by just how many people wanted to spend time with them. That the music they were making could connect on this sort of level so far away from home.
Well, in the years that have followed, and in their return to Donington on the main stage, any doubts of what an astonishing artist she is and what a generational band they are becoming have all but dissolved. Because they are delivering their euphorically bludgeoning brand of modern metalcore with a confidence and charisma that makes it all the more spectacular. 
From the devilish grit of ‘Holy Roller’ to the cataclysmic blunt force of ‘No Loss, No Love’, the inspirational harmony of ‘Circle With Me’ to the breezy anthemics of ‘Jaded’, every epic is dispatched with passion and power and received by a bumper crowd ready to put their bodies on the line for the cause.
Almost a decade since they first kickstarted this adventure, it feels like now, more than ever, everything is precisely where it should be for Spiritbox. To see their belief in themselves materialise into spectacles like this should serve as motivation for us all to put ourselves first and do what feels right more. Because nobody else is going to do it for you.
And the most wonderful part? They are just going to keep on getting more magnificent from here.
