Meet varsity baseball Coach David Houseton ⚾️

Coach Houseton describes coaching as a calling that God made clear after his playing career. From his first chance coaching JV baseball, he was hooked: “Coaching provides an opportunity to impact students and our CDS community in a lasting way.”

Coach Houseton’s style? Fun. Aggressive. Fundamentals. He’s a high-energy, player-first coach who builds teams that compete with grit, heart, and preparation. But at the core of it all is faith: “I pray they see commitment, discipline, and what it looks like to be a follower of Christ.”

Some highlights from his time leading the Lions:
🦁 Club Dub celebrations after home wins
🌴 Spring break matchups across Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee
⚾️ Beating Rabun Gap in 2023 to reach the state Final Four when no one expected them to win
🙌 Watching his team grow spiritually as players began praying openly and living out their faith across campus

“My prayer for this team is that each player grows into a Christ-fearing man. I hope they carry their faith forward, know that hard work can’t be replaced, and always remember I love them.”
