The morning before becoming your U.S. Open champion, J.J. Spaun made an early-morning CVS run to pick up medicine for his daughter. Just hours later, he sank a jaw-dropping 64-foot putt to claim his first major title. Talk about a wild day. 🏆⁣

The U.S. Open was anything but calm. As Spaun stood on the ninth tee box in a downpour, it looked like he had played his way out of contention for the 125th U.S. Open Championship. 👀⁣
•⁣
But after a weather delay that halted play for over an hour and a half, Spaun returned with new energy — and a whole new level of play. 🏌️⁣

On the notoriously tough Oakmont Country Club course, Spaun battled a packed leaderboard. He opened with three pars, then birdied the 12th and 14th holes — the latter giving him a one-shot lead. A bogey on 15 created a dramatic five-way tie with just a few holes remaining. ⛳⁣

Heading into the 18th, Spaun needed only a par to finish one stroke ahead of Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre. Sitting 64 feet from the cup, with two strokes to seal it, Spaun decided one was enough. He drained the putt — and sealed the moment. Absolutely stunning. 🤩⁣
