NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY. We recognize and celebrate the deep-rooted cultures, vibrant traditions, and remarkable contributions of Indigenous Peoples on this land. It’s a time to reflect, learn, and walk together on the path towards truth, reconciliation, and connection.

Here in Stó:lō Temexw (Stó:lō territories), we’re invited to connect with Indigenous history in ways that are educational and deeply grounding. June has been filled with meaningful events, with one of the highlights being Culture City: National Indigenous Peoples Day. Presented in partnership with Indigenous Education and the Abbotsford School District, the day featured storytelling, dance, and art.

We encourage you to explore:

* stoloshxweli – Stó:lō Shxwelí Halq’eméylem Language Program
* The Stó:lō Atlas – A powerful resource for learning and place-based storytelling
* stolo.community.futures – Stó:lō Business Directory via Stó:lō Community Futures

For another powerful event, join stetisimexstowxgathering to learn more about truth and reconciliation on September 30th.

We’re grateful to witness and share in these moments. We, respectfully, acknowledge that we live, work, and learn on the traditional and unceded territories of the Semá:th, Máthxwi, and Leq’á:mel First Nations, cared for by Indigenous Peoples since time immemorial.
