Growing up on the western shore of Lake Michigan, Ava developed an early interest in sustainability and protecting important natural resources like the Great Lakes. She began her college studies as an Environmental Science major, and although she later switched to Communications, Ava found a way to continue working toward a sustainable future through her internship with Good Steward Consulting on a Wisconsin solar project. Over the course of her internship, she gained a deeper understanding of agricultural culture and discovered a love for the meaningful connections that rural communities can foster.

In the spring of 2025, Ava graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Stout with a B.S. in Professional Communication and Emerging Media, along with minors in English Writing and Literature and Environmental Science. She then came to work full-time with GSC as a Communications Associate. Recently relocating to southeastern Minnesota, she is excited to take the next steps in helping spread the word about the benefits of renewable energy across the country. In her free time, Ava enjoys exploring local shops and restaurants, cuddling with her cat, Cheeky, and most recently, learning how to fly fish!
