For our first Summer Spotlight, meet Emmy Hensley, a rising sophomore at Brown University majoring in Business Economics! ✨ Emmy chose Brown for its open curriculum, strong team culture, and world-class facilities (shoutout to the pool and locker rooms! 🏊‍♀️). She shares that Brown has been instrumental in her growth, allowing her to connect with an amazing group of people from all over the country 🌎.

When it comes to fueling up, Emmy is a big fan of the Ivy Room, a go-to dining spot on campus known for its delicious smoothies, sandwiches, and sushi. Located right under the Ratty on Wriston Quad, it’s the perfect place to grab a smoothie after practice or enjoy a fresh sandwich or sushi roll. The Ivy Room is a favorite spot for students living in middle campus, offering a tasty selection of meals throughout the day. 🍓🥑

Emmy also loves the support she gets from the Varsity Fueling Stations, located at the Zucconi Varsity Center and Pizzitola Sports Center. With options like protein shakes, smoothies, and granola bars, these stations keep athletes fueled and ready for peak performance. Brown Athletics also offers nutrition counseling and performance nutrition education to support athletes in their training and recovery. 🍌💪
The Athletic Training program at Brown is another huge asset for student-athletes. The team of experts, including MDs and Certified Athletic Trainers, helps athletes manage their health, recover from injuries, and perform at their best. Emmy especially misses working with Beth Conroy, who has been a key part of the training and recovery for both her and the Women’s Water Polo team. 🏥💪

This summer, you’ll find Emmy staying active lifeguarding at the beach while preparing for an exciting upcoming season. If you’re on the West Coast, make sure to stop by and say hi! 🌊💪
