Try saying “passion fruit puree” 10 times fast…

Shortly upon arriving to Sayulita last weekend I was graced with a beautiful, delicious passion fruit margarita from escondidobar. After one sip there was zero question that I would recreate it and rotate into summer weekend cocktail rotation. I made a super easy passion fruit puree by blending some pitayafoods frozen passion fruit pieces (you can find it at Whole Foods or Sprouts), but you also can buy passion fruit puree online or at certain grocery stores. Would also be delicious if you swapped the passion fruit for mango! If you’re looking to make this spicy, muddle a couple jalapeño slices in the bottom of the cocktail shaker before adding the rest of the ingredients. Enjoy this one!

Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients:
4 oz blanco tequila or mezcal
2 oz passion fruit puree, recipe below
1 oz lime juice 
.75 oz agave, feel free to adjust for your sweetness level! 
Ice
Tajin, optional 

Passion Fruit Puree:
1/2 cup frozen passion fruit pieces, defrosted 

Instructions:
First make the puree by blending the passion fruit until smooth.
Next, add enough ice to fill a cocktail shaker about halfway. Pour the tequila, passion fruit puree, lime juice, and agave over the ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Using a lime, rim the glasses with tajin if desired. Add ice to the glasses then pour the mixture evenly into the two glasses. Cheers!
