As WAFCON 2024 kicks off, I’m reminded of the honour of wearing the national jersey, earning a cap, and representing South Africa on the continental stage. 
One unforgettable moment was meeting the legendary Doc Khumalo 🤭😅 ( amagoda bo ) — a rare show of support from a male football icon at a time when few embraced the women’s game. That moment reinforced how powerful representation is when it comes from someone relatable.

Back in 2010, I started every match on the bench, but finished the tournament as MVP alongside Nigeria’s great, Perpetua Nwocha — a four-time CAF African Women’s Footballer of the Year. 

WAFCON has a way of turning unknown players into unforgettable stars. 🏆 

Wishing our defending champions the very best as they prepare to conquer Africa once again!
