Meet Annelise Epperson-Jones ’27, a human resources management major with an interest in marketing who is studying abroad this summer in Shanghai. 🇨🇳🐅

This Lockhart, Texas, native is one of 13 students in the six-week Trinity Shanghai program. Annelise always knew she wanted to study abroad, but she wasn’t sure about where until one of her human resource management professors told her about the Shanghai trip. Through the trip, Annelise could get credit for her major, a guaranteed internship, and a chance to connect with her roots.

“I was also born in China and have wanted to visit Shanghai because I have never been, and it's been about eight years since my last visit to China,” Annelise says. “I was really excited to reconnect with my heritage and explore a new part of China.”

Annelise’s favorite part of the trip so far was exploring and going shopping at the malls in Shanghai with my friends. To her surprise, they even happened upon a cat cafe at one of the malls. 

“It has been a dream of mine to go to a cat cafe,” Annelise says. “If you know anything about me, I love animals and was absolutely ecstatic to just sit with dozens of cats and feed them treats!”
