Some time back, we held an event for female students in our Stockholm office. One of our Directors, Johanna, shared insights from her journey that could be valuable for students looking for a career in consulting.
 
Below she shares the most common questions she gets from students and her answers to them.

🤔Should I really do consulting as my first job?
Johanna: My response always leans towards a definite ‘Yes’. Although I didn’t take that path myself, I would highly recommend it. The experience you build and exposure you get towards multiple industries and complex topics in a fast-paced setting is extremely rewarding for your personal growth.

👩‍💻I like tech, isn’t consulting all about Powerpoint?
Johanna: I love this question because it is a little provocative. For those inclined towards technology, the misconception that consulting only revolves around Powerpoint presentations is prevalent. While Powerpoint plays a crucial role, mastering technical aspects is key when tackling complex Data and AI challenges for clients.

🌍Can I create a meaningful impact on society through a consulting role?
Johanna: Once again, the answer is ‘Yes’. Particularly at Capgemini, with our dedication to environmental sustainability. We not only support clients in their sustainability journey from strategy to execution, but we also ‘walk the talk’ by driving internal change across all aspects of our operations.
