🏳️‍⚧️ #WendyCarlos is a pioneering composer and electronic music innovator who broke monumental barriers both musically and as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

⭐️ Carlos made history in 1970 when she became the first transgender woman to win a GRAMMY, taking home three awards for her revolutionary album, Switched-On Bach. This groundbreaking record introduced the world to the possibilities of electronic music by taking Johann Sebastian Bach's music and performing it on a Moog synthesizer

🎶 But Carlos' impact extends far beyond a single album. She composed scores for many of Stanley Kubrick's films, including A Clockwork Orange and The Shining. Later, she created the futuristic and iconic soundtrack for Disney's TRON. Her innovative use of the Moog synthesizer fundamentally changed how we think about sound, composition, and music itself.

❤️ Carlos is a personal hero to many in the LGBTQIA+ community for being openly transgender during a time when the public was far less accepting, paving the way for countless artists who would follow in her footsteps.
