Last week NYC voted, and it wasn't subtle.

Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani's win over former Governor Andrew Cuomo in NYC's Democratic mayoral primary was driven by a progressive platform with major policy implications, including:
• $30 minimum wage by 2030
• $1.1B Department of Community Safety
• $100B for public housing
• City-run grocery stores

Cuomo hasn't made an official decision yet. The general election could feature 4–5 candidates with competing urban agendas.

Why it matters:
• $10B+/year in new public spending
• Over 2 million rent-stabilized units affected
• Regulatory resets likely in housing, labor, and public safety

This isn't just local, it's a national governance inflection point. Read more at the blog link in our bio.
