FIRE CREW: Redding Hotshots

The redding_hotshots, rooted in Redding, California, have been a pillar of wildfire expertise since their establishment in 1967.

Pioneering the nation's first concentrated fire management training detail opportunity, the Redding Interagency Hotshot Crew shaped the future of fire management personnel. By providing early-career professionals with immersive experiences, they accumulated a wealth of expertise and training, compressing what would otherwise take years to acquire at their home units. 

The program operated as one of the Pacific Southwest Region's three Interregional Suppression Crews until 1980. It then transitioned into an "Interagency Hotshot Crew" (IHC) after the nationwide abolition of the interregional concept. While the crew's training and career development have evolved since 1967, their dedication remains unwavering. 

Mystery Ranch extends sincere recognition and gratitude to the Redding Hotshots and their fellow Hotshot crews for their fearless bravery and tireless commitment. Thank you for placing your trust in our gear since 2009.
