I moved to NYC // day 99 🥹🗽🔴🟡

Yesterday I spoke at an internal mastercard conference as an expert on the Experience Economy and how young travelers are spending our money on travel > things.

As much as I *love love love* traveling the world full-time with no home base... these were the opportunities I was missing out on when I was working remotely from a rooftop in Costa Rica. Or sitting in a bedouin tent in Jordan under the stars with one bar of cell service.

Life is all about balance. God knows I'm ready to get back out there (did I mention I'm heading to Dominica at the end of the month? 🇩🇲)

But as a Certified I-Want-To-Live-1000-Lives-At-A-Time girl, these professional milestones are on my bucket list too. I've always believed short-term work reaps long term rewards and if I had ALL fun, I would be stagnant right now.

Being in New York, working, attending events like this to hone my expertise, widen my network, and establish myself has been (as Mastercard would say) priceless.

Work isn't inherently bad. Future Gabby always loooves Past Gabby for the work she put in.

The trick really is having a job that marries the lifestyle you want + flexibility to be creative + things you enjoy.

(I started off in 2021 by working remotely and traveling the world. Do you dream of doing the same?

Comment "GOREMOTE" and I'll DM you the everything-you-need-to-know-about-finding-a-remote-job-and-traveling ebook I wrote.)
