## Caption

This is a great video about interesting clothes, and their appeal to an increasing number of men. But it denies the main reason the manosphere exists: many men are *grasping* at the vestiges of masculinity. They want to be a "real man" in an era where only one group is claiming to know what that even means.

The manosphere capitalizes on this desperation. They offer you "what women or really want." They use "toxic masculinity" as a sound byte instead of a concept, and then tell you that masculinity isn't toxic, which *wasn't the point*. And then, they sell men on their idea of masculinity. Cars, cigars, muscles, more testosterone (consult your doctor, you probably shouldn't take steroids), and of course, shitty clothing.

They yell at you and make you feel like you need to buy in, like you can only be a success if you take their supplements, like you need to take their expensive class or else they're going to turn the frogs gay.

Masculinity is a complicated concept, but it doesn't mean you have to be an asshole. You can relate to clothing in any way you like and still be a real man. I'm here for the guys who like clothes, any clothes. Whether that's runway shit, rugged shit, suits and shit, or just basics.

We are not eroding the concept of masculinity. We're purging it of narrow-minded assholes like them. Yes, you can work out, by all means. Yes, you can still eat meat. Yes, you can still like cars. No, nobody's going to turn you gay.

I'll share a few other brands you might like in my stories today. Some mix of rugged, classic, basic, affordable... Masculine, in some sense or another. And if you want the bolder, more interesting, more novel stuff, I'll certainly come back to that in the future too.

Wear what you like. But if you're considering a stretchy suit... let's talk, I might have some better ideas.
