Okay, you might have seen a bunch of articles talking about "grades" or "tiers" of leather, ranking "full grain, top grain, and genuine leather" as three separate categories. Sometimes they mention split or corrected grains, bonded leathers, suede, nubuck, or roughout. These articles are very common, and for a while I was among those who believed them. No shade if you fell for the same lies.

But these are mostly nonsense. I break down why, and will link, shortly, to some fuller explanations from nstarleather. I hope you learn a thing or two!
