The Italian actress won international acclaim for her screen roles throughout the 1950s and '60s. Starring opposite Humphrey Bogart in her breakthrough English-language film, "Beat the Devil", the actor famously declared that she made "Marilyn Monroe look like Shirley Temple".⁠
