A month before xgames I was at woodwardcamp trying Flair downwhip to turn down. Yeah, thatโ€™s a good one too ๐Ÿ‘ anyhow, I was getting close but kept getting thrown to the left of the bike. That in mind I took off straighter and had one of those moments upside down, as you do ๐Ÿ˜‚ where I got lazy and didnโ€™t grab the bike for a turndown instead the bike carried on whipping and I landed in the foam pit right next to the bike. Scared the heck out of me! Anyhow, that night all I could see was the fortunate mistake I made and how I was close to something special. Next day, back down to camp and so began a few weeks of hard work and only one pulled on resi before I left ๐Ÿ˜ฌ The Vert Best trick contest came off the back of a Gold medal ๐Ÿฅ‡ in Vert and it was a heater of a contest. I rolled in after 10 mins and did a lap and then bang! upside down we go! I remember taking off and seeing garyream son Brandon and big Scott watching right in front of me. I got a good kick on the frame and then clipped back on the pedals and rode away. Unreal! I think I was in a bit of shock and bmxdmc definitely celebrated it more than I did ๐Ÿ˜‚ I turned around and as always a big hug from big krobbmx and condorbmx & davemirralegacy my two biggest inspirations there to celebrate ๐Ÿ™Œ What a moment. Directly after pulling the trick I took my helmet off and helped big krobbmx try the Double flair and while he didnโ€™t manage to pull it, he came back the following year and stomped it! ๐Ÿค˜ Flying home the next day big Kev called up. The conversation was as follows: Kev - Hey! Where you at? Me -Iโ€™m in DC why? Kev - You coming to the XGames party? Me - Not if Iโ€™m in Washington Kev why? Kev - You should come to the party because youโ€™ve won a sports car! ๐Ÿš— Me - what! Kev - Yeah, 2 Golds won you a car! come grab it and weโ€™ll drive from LA to PA!
