The Dangerous Summer, 2000trees Festival

REVIEW: The Dangerous Summer are what living the dream looks like.
To savour every moment, love every second and appreciate every single person stood before them for this main stage appearance.
It’s a mantra that has carried them throughout their career, with the likes of the iridescent ‘Where I Want To Be’ and chest-thumping ‘No One's Gonna Need You More’ showcasing the emotional depths that their early days dived into. But it’s in the resilience of ‘Fuck Them All’, the carefree exploration of ‘Where Were You When The Sky Opened Up’ and the wide-eyed wonder of ‘Coming Home’ that the true measure of what it means to get to spend your life spreading joy and inspiring awe is unveiled.
As AJ Perdomo hands his bass over to As It Is’ Ben Langford-Biss, kid-at-Christmas jubilation plastered all over his face, and heads into the crowd for a community-driven ‘The Permanent Rain’, the band’s purpose comes to a head. To unite, to create and to remind us of how wonderful this life can be when we are all marching to the same beat.
“We are The motherfucking Dangerous Summer,” AJ bellows as he drops his mic and walks off into the festival grounds surrounded by his people. As long as that statement remains true, the world is a little bit brighter.
