Nearly three years after the killing of 23-year-old Jamea Harris, the person accused of handing the gun to convicted murderer Michael Davis is going to trial.

Darius Miles, who has been in jail since the Jan. 15, 2023, shooting that happened near the Strip just off the University of Alabama campus, has a jury trial date set for Dec. 1.

Davis was convicted of capital murder in May and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for shooting Harris.

While Miles did not fire the gun that killed Harris, he is charged with capital murder because Alabama law allows for anyone actively involved in a killing to be charged.
