Members of AFSCME District Council 33 are voting to approve a tentative deal that they reached with the city. The voting is expected to last a week with the results being announced on Monday, July 21.

The contract would give municipal workers a 9% salary increase over the next three years of Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker’s term, as well as other changes to sick and family leave policies.

DC 33 President Greg Boulware said if members vote against the deal, then another walkout may happen. Boulware shared that it’s not the deal he wanted, but it was the best they could do at the time.

Mayor Parker called the tentative deal a win.
