in case you need the reminder, ptsd doesn’t just affect veterans. stop telling people they can’t have ptsd because they haven’t been to war, it’s a complete misconception. you can have ptsd regardless of what traumatic event you’ve been through – it isn’t just limited to veterans.

people can get ptsd from experiences involving sexual assault, car accidents, childhood abuse, tragic accidents. it’s called post TRAUMATIC stress disorder for a reason.
