A German backpacker was rescued after spending 11 days lost in the Western Australian outback, police said.
 
Carolina Wilga, 26, was found exhausted, dehydrated, and suffering from "extensive insect bites" and an injured foot after abandoning her van when it became stuck in remote bushland.
 
She was saved when she was spotted by a driver and was airlifted to a hospital in Perth.
