The Singer story started as one of dream cars for people of limitless means. Yet what makes driving this example a personal ­bucket-list moment is more than just exclusivity or sticker price. Yes, seven figures is a lot of cash for a trompe l’oeil Turbo built from a 964, but the fusion of nostalgia and perform­ance is unmatched. The fact that disinterested onlookers would see the Classic Turbo as just another old 911 makes me want one even more.
