It breaks our heart when patients miss life milestones due to illness. That's why we're #MedStarHealthProud that our associates frequently help patients feel recognized and appreciated. Here's an example. 

Our team came together to coordinate a special graduation celebration for a young patient who was under evaluation for a heart transplant. The plan included walking the patient, with their ICU transport monitor, IV drips, and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, to a conference room where they were greeted with a surprise ceremony. They invited family members and associates to attend. It was a heartwarming event. But that's not all. The ultimate celebration came just days later—this patient received a heart transplant! ❤️ The excitement was shared by all. 

Sarah Craft, nursing director, and nurses Myah Blackman, Shannell George, Christy Norris, Alexander Stokes, and Katharine Stoddard were recognized by Dr. Gregory J. Argyros, hospital president, for their compassionate care.
