Would a scratch golfer beat an LPGA Tour pro? 🤔 We’ve broken down the stats to find out! 👀 At the top of the bag, it starts as a level contest. Both average around 260 to 270 yards off the tee. But unfortunately for the scratch golfer, that’s where the similarities stop. LPGA Tour pros are about 30% more accurate off the tee. They hit more fairways, more greens, and make fewer mistakes. On average, LPGA players hit 67% of greens in regulation. Scratch golfers? Just 52%. Around the greens, LPGA players get up and down 55% of the time. Scratch golfers manage 50%. And on the greens, LPGA pros 3-putt less, hole more putts, and dominate in pressure situations. Let’s also not forget that they’re doing this on tough courses, with faster greens and under tournament pressure. So if a scratch golfer took on an LPGA Tour pro, we think the LPGA tour pro would win the vast majority of the time! When Grant Horvat played Nelly Korda over four holes, he lost by two shots.
