🏇 A significant horsepower boost at Aintree Racecourse, On This Day 70 years ago, as it held the British Grand Prix for the first time. 🆕

Sir Stirling Moss led a Mercedes 1-2-3-4 sweep for his first ever F1 win, in a close finish with Juan Manuel Fangio - to whom Moss was eternally grateful, believing Fangio could have passed him any time he wanted. 🥹 With three of the four remaining rounds cancelled in the wake of the Le Mans Disaster, second place was enough for Fangio to clinch his third F1 title. 👑
 
In another first that weekend, future world champion Sir Jack Brabham also made his F1 debut in a Cooper T40.
