My most viral recipe!!! These never disappoint and they’re SO easy to make (until you have a hot flash standing over the grill 😅). Corey is on grilling duty for the rest of summer lol. We used ground turkey instead of beef or lamb and they turned out great except they need some extra oil to prevent sticking since they have a lower fat content. See recipe below!

Serves: 4

Ingredients
1 lb ground lamb, beef or turkey*
1/2 red onion, finely minced or grated
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon harmonyblends Mediterranean Blend (Italian seasoning or dried oregano works too)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 pitas
Toppings: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, feta cheese

TZATZIKI:
3/4 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cucumber, grated
1 clove garlic, minced
Juice from 1 lemon
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste

Instructions
Grate the cucumber on the large holes of a box grater. Using a kitchen towel, wring or press out any excess liquid from the cucumber.
In a medium bowl, combine the grated cucumber, yogurt, lemon juice, dill, mint, garlic, oil and salt. Refrigerate up to 3 days covered.
For the burgers, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic and seasonings until fully combined. Roll into 4 balls.
Heat a flat top grill or cast iron pan over medium high heat. Place the meat on the hot surface then, using a heavy pan or burger press, smash the pita down on top of the burger until it’s as flat as you can make it. Close the grill if using and cook for 3-4 minutes until the meat is crispy and cooked through. Flip over for about 1 minute then serve with your toppings!
*If using turkey, add 1 tablespoon olive oil to the meat mixture. Make sure the griddle is properly oiled to prevent sticking since turkey has a lower fat content than beef or lamb.
