Personal heroes of mine, photographers like Ansel Adams or Galen Rowell, spent years and in some instances, their entire lifetime visiting and revisiting the same locations in different seasons, auditing scenes in different times of day, from different vantage points, to try and find the best time to click the shutter. 
We're not talking about photographers who take a photograph just for the hell of it, but photographers who made a photograph because it made them feel real emotion. Because it made others feel real emotion. Because it encapsulated the perfect hour, minute, second, day, month, year, season, cloud array, lighting pattern, position, framing, and countless years of work to get to that point. A story. 
During this evening at Delicate arch, a place I have visited and plan to visit again, I felt the wisdom within the silence after midnight. Standing on the precipice, It felt as though my teachers guided me to this composition. 
It was no doubt a profound experience – a dance of patience and deep connection with earth as I watched her celestial and earthly protuberances undulate and orbit into perfect composition. 
I hope you feel as real an emotion when viewing this composition as I did when capturing it.
