STORY:
It was a night full of twists and turns that didn’t let my friend Stefano and me get bored! I knew it could get windy at the location during the night, as it’s a completely exposed peak 1,106 meters above Pivka, where a breeze often blows from the sea side. And so it was—the wind tossed clouds across the sky all night, leaving us unsure whether our photos would succeed. We even sought shelter in the church. It was very tense; the radar showed a completely clear sky, yet we spent most of the night under clouds. But when the time came to shoot the panorama, a higher power granted us a clear sky. And not only that—I also captured the AURORA, which was active that night 🤩. What more could I have wished for from that night? Truly incredible!
Holy Trinity Is a popular hiking spot, and according to legend, Martin Krpan roamed around here. At the summit stands the idyllic Holy Trinity Church, where a smaller church stood in the 17th century but fell into ruin around the transition from the 18th to the 19th century. It was recently rebuilt, and now you can see it as main object above which the summer Milky Way arc rises in all its majesty.
