Would you go on a spacewalk?

On Jan. 20, NASAAstronauts Nicole Mann and JAXAjp astronaut Wakata Koichi will step outside the ISS for their first spacewalk to finish installing two mounting platforms to the station in preparation for solar array additions planned for this upcoming summer. They have been prepping, practicing, and studying for this spacewalk, including training on a space station model on Earth within the NASAJohnson Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory.

The spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. EST (1315 UTC) and will last about six-and-a-half hours. Live coverage will begin at 7 a.m. EST (1200 UTC); tune in on nasa.gov/live.
