We'll explore a creative way to build a jazz line over a major 7 chord by turning each chord tone into its own arpeggio based on the Lydian mode. Connect these arpeggios using a triplet rhythm inspired by Wes Montgomery's phrasing.

Take the four chord tones of a major 7 chord (the root, third, fifth, and seventh) and build an arpeggio from each one using the chord scale of the Lydian sound.

If we are in C major, the arpeggios would be:

Root (C): C major 7 arpeggio

Third (E): E minor 7 arpeggio

Fifth (G): G major 7 arpeggio

Seventh (B): B minor 7 arpeggio

By linking these arpeggios with a flowing triplet rhythm, we get a melodic phrase that sounds modern but is still grounded in classic jazz guitar language.
