## Caption

This is one of my favorite approaches to improvising over a major II-V-I progression using the minor pentatonic scale in a creative and jazz-influenced way.

🎶 The Concept
We’re starting with a II V I in F major, so the chords are:�Gm7, C7alt, and Fmaj7(#11).

Here’s the idea:

Instead of thinking modally or using typical bebop scales, we’ll use minor pentatonic scales starting from a strategic point: the fifth of the II chord.

For Gm7, the fifth is D, which gives us:

- D minor pentatonic over Gm7
- Then move up a half step to Eb minor pentatonic over C7alt
- Then up another half step to E minor pentatonic over Fmaj7(#11)

Even though you're moving up chromatically through the pentatonic scales, the pattern itself descends, creating a slippery, modern sound that outlines the harmony in a fresh and exciting way.
