The Creators of The Philly Cheesesteak
You’re looking at the creators of Philadelphia’s most iconic item—the Philly cheesesteak. Back in the 1930s, brothers Pat and Harry Olivieri operated a hot dog stand out of South Philly. Legend has it, one day Pat slapped some sliced beef and onions onto the grill instead of the usual hot dog, and piled it in a roll. A taxi driver who stopped by asked to get the same thing, and the legendary sandwich was born. As years passed, cheese was added.

Whether you get it with or without (onions), or with Whiz, Provolone or American, you know you can’t go wrong with the King of Steaks.
