Swipe ⬅️ Astronomer’s interim CEO, Pete DeJoy, released a surprising statement after stepping in following former CEO Andy Byron’s resignation, which came after he was caught on the kiss-cam cuddling with HR chief Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert. 

DeJoy acknowledged the bizarre spotlight the scandal, dubbed ColdplayGate, brought to the company. “The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name,” he wrote on LinkedIn. 

He emphasized the team’s resilience, commitment to doing things “the right way,” and reassured customers that the company wouldn’t let them down moving forward.

The viral moment, where Byron and Cabot immediately pulled away from each other when they saw themselves on the jumbotron, sparked endless memes and even celebrity reenactments online. 

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin later joked about the incident at another concert, and the chaos has since turned into a full-on pop culture moment—though Byron and Cabot have since deleted their LinkedIn profiles.
